I am not, and have never been, a "shoe person." Obviously I wear shoes - otherwise I'd get kicked out of most places and my feet would be cold - but I've never been super into putting loads of money into picking up the most stylish kicks out there. If they don't fall apart in a puddle, I consider that a win.
With that said, every now and again a certain trainer is released that genuinely attracts my attention. Adidas in particular have had a pretty good run when it comes to pop culture collabs that really bait the nerd in me, and the company's latest Pokémon effort is no exception.
Take a look at the brand new Adidas Advantages below. These aren't the first Pokémon-themed trainers we've ever seen from the company, but they are the best. At least for my money.
What I really dig about the design of this latest Pokémon inspired slice of footwear is its decidedly retro flavour. It's a simple, elegant white trainer with the franchise logo on the tongue and a single Pikachu sprite on the side. Or should that be Pikashoe? Because he's on a trainer? Yeah? YEAH? Hilarious, I know.

Anyway, my point is that I feel it's subtle enough that even a grown man or woman could feel comfortable wearing this trainer without feeling silly. To be clear, I'm not saying grown-ups should feel uncomfortable wearing Pokémon shoes - you should wear whatever the hell you want - but doubtless some might feel a bit odd expressing their love for the video game franchise on their feet, especially if they're over the age of fifteen.
I feel this latest shoe eliminates that problem somewhat. It's a sleek trainer that lets you express your Pokémon love in a fairly subtle way. I also really dig the inner lining that's adorned with the sprites of a number of beloved OG monsters, including Beedrill, Charmander, and Bulbasaur. It's like an entire Pokédex for your feet. Kind of.
It's unclear exactly when these Pokéshoes are set to release, but we understand they'll be arriving soon. Look for them on the Adidas site in the new year. Just don't expect them to come cheap. These things never do.

If you do decide to part with your hard-earned cash and pick up these trainers, just be aware that you're like, 90% more likely to be challenged to Pokémon battles by random kids in the street.
