Twitch Just Banned A Cartoon Emote For Being "Too Sexual", Because Of Course

Twitch Just Banned A Cartoon Emote For Being "Too Sexual", Because Of Course

Twitch strikes again.

I think we can all probably agree that it's getting harder and harder to predict Twitch. The behemoth streaming platform can be frustratingly vague at the best of times, with confusing or muddled policies that actively hurt streamers. People have found themselves banned with little to no explanation in the past, and it doesn't look like this lack of communication is getting any better any time soon.

Streamer Kara Corvus is just one of the many baffled streamers out there who is wondering why Twitch banned one of her emotes. The emote in question? A cartoon bird wiggling its butt. I'd hope nobody reading this would consider that inherently sexual, but according to Twitch the emote contains "imagery of sexual content or nudity."

Take a look at some of the best Twitch wins and fails below!

While we all know the internet is a shady place that's more than capable of making a cartoon bird sexy if it really wants to (goddamn rule 34), this particular birdie is not in the least bit sexual in any way. Corvus shared the emote on Twitter just to let fans know what exactly had been pulled, and yeah... this is a bit daft.

Corvus' Tweet attracted plenty of support from fans and fellow streamers, including Novaruu and Pedguin. Everyone seems to agree how ridiculous the situation is, with TidesOfTime rightly calling it the "dumbest emote ban" they'd ever seen. Others have, predictably, once again blasted Twitch for double standards in relation to some of the riskier streams out there that have been allowed to continue.

There's been no indication from Corvus as to whether or not she'll be fighting Twitch on this one or if she feels it's just not worth the effort. Personally I'm hoping that poor innocent bird is allowed back on Twitch soon to shake that lil' bootie all around just like it was made to.
