Twitch star Emma "LadyHope" Guyan, who is well-known for her Grand Theft Auto streams, was banned by the platform after she read aloud the hate mail that fans of Felix "xQc" Lengyel sent to her.

NoPixel is a roleplaying server for Grand Theft Auto Online which has soared in popularity thanks to the arrival of streamers like Hedisaurus, Ray__C, DisbeArex, and xQc. xQc roleplays as two different characters - the brothers X and Paul Pierre - in the community, and the server has strict rules that the players must remain in character while they play the game with other members of NoPixel. Criminal activities are restricted to four players per scenario, players must not initiate random death matches with others without there being a roleplay justification, players must not mention things they know of in real life through Discords or Twitch chat, and they must even realistically act like they fear for their character's life if they are placed in danger. This therefore creates a believable world that viewers tune into and follow the stories of these characters, like a TV series.

You might aim to play a game as it should be played, but if 2020 has taught us anything, it's to expect the unexpected. Check out a compilation of the wildest livestream wins and fails below.

During a recent livestream, LadyHope's character Lily Pond arrested X. The streamer then complained over an apparent lack of evidence that triggered the in-game arrest, and fans of xQc harassed LadyHope with hate mail. In order to let people know about the treatment she was facing, she read the comments aloud on her own stream, yet, Twitch issued her channel a ban for "Violent Hate Speech." What had happened was a clip from that stream was shared widely and without the original context that the words she was saying had come from insults against LadyHope.

"I've of course appealed this but to be even banned like this in the first place is devastating and I won't lie I've been a wreck all morning," said the streamer of the news. "My mental health is beyond in the ground." She expressed her gratitude for her community's support for her channel, and that she was "working to resolve" the unjust ban. As of May 5th, LadyHope was back on Twitch following an apology from the platform and admission that it had made a "mistake."
