What makes a criminal in Night City?

Cyberpunk 2077 has had a rough old time of it since launch. Developer CD Projekt RED has openly admitted that the sci-fi RPG launched in an unacceptable state on PS4 and Xbox One, and has spent the last few days putting out fires involving refunds, unexpected crashes, and other glitches. The studio is doing all of this while facing increasingly frustrated fans and what looks to be increasingly likely legal action from investors who feel they were misled.

There are a lot of people who are angry at CDPR right now, there's no doubt about that. The good news is that there are some gamers out there who are at least able to see the funny side of the situation, and can poke fun at Cyberpunk 2077's glittering Night City.

Take Fleetwoodmulder, for instance (thanks, The Gamer). The Reddit user has created an updated version of the game's 'Welcome To Night City' trailer, cutting in some of the strangest and funniest videos on the internet to create a truly genius descent into chaos, led by Keanu Reeves himself. To be clear, this isn't specifically taking the piss out of Cyberpunk 2077's glitches or anything like that - that's been done to death at this point. Instead, the video simply offers a meme-tastic sending up of Night City that I think we can all laugh at.

I have to give props to the brains behind this video for making me genuinely laugh out loud for pretty much the entirety of the video. The timing of every single clip is so perfectly lined up with Keanu's narration to provide the best possible gag. I particularly enjoyed the footage of some dude flying down a train carriage on the back of a fire extinguisher as Keanu floated the idea of true power. Just top notch work, seriously.

While the actual Night City of Cyberpunk 2077 might not be quite this... vibrant, who knows what it might be one day? With patches and hotfixes already coming thick and fast for the game, there's hope that it could soon be transformed on console from the relatively lifeless dystopia to an open world with real character and, if we're lucky, rideable fire extinguishers.
