'Gotham Knights' Will Have Feature Fans Are Going To Love

Gotham Knight's official listing on the PlayStation store has been updated to say it supports up to four online players, rather than two.

When times are tough, just remember that Gotham Knights is a thing that’s actually happening. You’d be forgiven for forgetting about it - the open-world action RPG was first announced way back in August 2020 during DC FanDome, and although it was originally meant to release last year, as many games were, it was hit with a pretty chunky delay, and is now supposedly going to be out on 25 October this year.

The game is set to feature four playable characters - Nightwing, Batgirl, Robin and Red Hood - all of which have their own unique abilities and play styles. Despite that though, it had been previously confirmed that aside from your regular solo-play, only two-player co-op would exist, which is frankly slightly baffling. It seems the devs might have realised that too, though, because it looks like things are set to change.

As reported by GamesRadar+, the game’s official listing on the PlayStation store has been changed to say that it “supports up to four online players with PS Plus”. Exciting! Admittedly, this doesn’t necessarily mean that four people will be able to play in co-op, there might be another multiplayer mode which is yet to be announced, but it certainly seems promising, and there’s no doubt that fans would be happy if it’s true. There’s always a chance that this is an error on Sony’s part, but at the time of writing, the listing still says that four network players are supported, so it looks like it was deliberate.

At the end of last month, there were a few concerns raised about what platforms Gotham Knights will actually be releasing on. It recently received its age rating in Taiwan, but only for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, leading fans to believe that the PS4 and Xbox One releases may have been scrapped. That hasn’t been confirmed though, so don’t panic just yet, but it definitely seems like we’re due to get an update on the game soon.
