GTA 5 Zombie Apocalypse DLC leaks online, sounds like Undead Nightmare

GTA 5 Zombie Apocalypse DLC leaks online, sounds like Undead Nightmare

A leaked document appears to confirm that GTA 5 was originally due to receive a post-apocalyptic zombie DLC expansion.

Anyone who’s played Red Dead Redemption’s Undead Nightmare will attest that it is immensely fun. Unfortunately, we never saw a fresh iteration of the DLC released for Red Dead Redemption 2, although it has just been discovered that a similar expansion was in the works for Grand Theft Auto V.

That’s right. GTA V almost had its own post-apocalyptic single-player DLC, and I just let out a long sigh to express my sadness that this was never released. As of late, our focus has been exclusively on GTA VI and understandably so. The first trailer dropped last month, in December, and fans have scoured every pixel for clues. Some even went as far as locating the trailer’s strip club in real life, all in the name of research. Today though, we shift our attention back to GTA V as a document from Rockstar Games president Sam Houser has seemingly been confirmed as real, 10 years after it was first leaked.

ICYMI: Take a look at the GTA VI trailer below.

This story actually begins in 2013 when the document from Sam Houser originally leaked. However, it flew under the radar and was only seen by a handful of insiders. The document then became viewable to the public in 2016, but no one quite knew what to believe. Jump to 2020, and YouTuber ZacCoxTV brought the document to the masses once more. That leads us to our final point in the journey.

Reddit user Atomictomic22 has now pointed out that many of the claims made about GTA VI in this document back in 2013 can now be verified seeing as we have the GTA VI trailer, thus somewhat solidifying its validity. With that in mind, many have been revisiting the other leaked details, one of which mentions a ‘GTA V DLC 3 (Zombie Apocalypse) [Small Team Pre-Production]’. Yes, this implies a further two expansions, referred to as ‘Alien War’ and ‘Story based’.

We don’t know what the zombie-centric expansion would’ve looked like beyond this but if it was due to be anything like Undead Nightmare, I have a feeling it would’ve been special. “An Undead Nightmare style DLC for GTA V would have been class,” agreed user coletrain93. “I’m not even really into GTA, but I would play the hell out of this,” IsRude added. Unfortunately, we’ll just have to dream about this one.
