GTA 6 60fps update leaves fans disappointed

GTA VI fans are worried the game won’t run at 60fps on consoles, and should probably touch some grass.

Updates on GTA VI are few and far between following the premiere of the first trailer, though that hasn’t stopped additional leaks and rumours crawling out of the woodwork.

Check out the first trailer for GTA VI below.

Judging from the evidence we’ve seen so far, it seems GTA VI will follow the example of previous Rockstar Games releases and only launch on the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 consoles on day one.

This means PC fans will unfortunately have to wait for their port of the game, which will likely be around a year after the game’s release if GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 are anything to go off.

Now despite the game launching exclusively for new-gen consoles, it’s reported the game will not run at 60fps, even on the rumoured PlayStation 5 Pro which is said to be a significant boost in power compared to the base model.

This is a similar story to Bethesda’s latest RPG Starfield which launched last year for the Xbox Series X/S, but was locked to 30fps to ensure a solid resolution.

It seems GTA VI will also be restricted to a lower framerate which will surely kick the hornet's nest for gamers who prioritise frames over the quality of the game itself.

That being said, it’s definitely not the end of the world, as from what we saw in the trailer, the open world for GTA VI is absolutely massive, and rumours suggest it’s filled with activities and side content that players will come across simply by exploring.

Obviously this needs to be taken with a pinch of salt anyway, as Rockstar Games is yet to confirm or deny its plans for the game.
