Is there a map concept for GTA 6 yet?

Grand Theft Auto 6 creeps ever closer and even though there’s a while to wait for the official release, there are kernels of truth to be found in the leaks. Rockstar Games kept the location of the game under its hat, letting fans ping pong their possibilities from forum to forum, however the historic GTA 6 hack leaked the city where the game is set along with a whole lot of other details. In September, Rockstar Games suffered one of the most significant leaks the industry has ever seen, revealing 90 videos of early gameplay of GTA 6 onto the Internet. The leak showed off work-in-progress concepts of the modern Vice City map, animation tests, gameplay tests, level layouts, NPC dialogue, and the identity of the two playable protagonists.

The vocal majority were, unfortunately, unkind to the circumstances that Rockstar Games was suddenly subject to. “We recently suffered a network intrusion in which an unauthorised third party illegally accessed and downloaded confidential information from our systems, including early development footage for the next Grand Theft Auto. At this time, we do not anticipate any disruption to our live game services, nor any long-term effect on the development of our ongoing projects,” said the studio.

Of course, Rockstar Games is cracking on following the catastrophic leak, and at the same time, a gaggle of dedicated gamers are attempting to piece together the map of the modernised Vice City from those 90 clips of GTA 6. Mapping the coordinates from the city in the GTA 6 leak against those for Los Santos in GTA 5, it looks like the map (in its loose form) puts its predecessor to shame.

There’s one last thing - the size of the map concept is inspiring some trepidation from fans who say it just might be too large. But, given that this is all unconfirmed and unofficial at the moment, it’s best to be cautious to avoid disappointment.
