There is little doubt that Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto series is one of the industry's hottest properties and fans of the series cannot get enough.
Despite being released in the late 90s for the original PlayStation, this iconic series never began to see its full potential until the arrival of Grand Theft Auto III in 2001 for the PS2 before arriving on other platforms. The PlayStation 2 would then become home to two other iconic games in the series, GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas.

Those three iconic games would come to other platforms such as the OG Xbox, as well as mobile devices many years later. In 2021, this trilogy would get a Definitive Edition release, but sadly its launch did not go as well as Rockstar Games and its fans had hoped.

Nonetheless, if you can look past some of the flaws of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition, these are still great games all these years later. That being said, it would be easier to look past its flaws if it were free, right? Well, if you subscribe to Netflix, you can download and play all three games for free.
On 30 November 2023, Rockstar Games announced that GTA: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition is coming to Netflix mobile and would be available at no extra cost to subscribers. That time has now arrived, so if you’ve been tempted to play these classic games on the go (other than on the Nintendo Switch), now might be the perfect time.
Available via the Netflix mobile app, simply launch the application on Android or iOS, select your profile, go to the ‘Games’ tab and choose to download any of the three iconic GTA games included in the remastered collection. All three games are optimised to be played on mobile, but you also have the option of syncing a compatible controller such as the Turtle Beach Atom Smartphone Controller.
What’s more, GTA: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition on mobile comes with a new Classic Lighting mode which “restores the look and feel of the sky in the original games.”
