It’s no secret that the Harry Potter RPG Hogwarts Legacy is one of the most anticipated video game releases of the next few years.
Fans around the world lost their minds when Avalanche Software showed off a first look at the open-world wizarding school sim last year, and the game’s dedicated subreddit is filled with Potterheads desperately scouring every developer tweet, job listing, and trailer frame for any new info they can get their hands on.
Take a look at the trailer below, as if you haven’t already watched it a few hundred times over.
Hogwarts Legacy was originally slated to launch this year, but Avalanche announced in January that it had made the tough decision to postpone it to 2022. Disappointing? A little. Still, fans were mostly happy to accept that the delay means we’re more likely to get a more polished product. Given the immense amount of pressure on this particular game to deliver, that can only be a good thing.

While Avalanche and Warner Bros. have yet to officially announce the Hogwarts Legacy release date, a substantial Nvidia GeForce Now leak appears to have confirmed when exactly the Harry Potter RPG - as well as a number of other titles - will launch.
Twitter user Okami13_ saved and flagged the leak, which contains release dates for everything from Hogwarts Legacy and The Elder Scrolls VI to unannounced games like Crysis 4 and Mortal Kombat 12. A separate Nvidia database leak from earlier this year correctly predicted a number of titles, including God Of War’s PC port, so there’s definitely some substance to this.
Even so, it’s important to note that many of these leaked release dates are probably placeholders. From what we understand, The Elder Scrolls VI is so early in development that there’s no way it has a solid release date just yet. But Hogwarts Legacy having a planned release date of March 8, 2022? That definitely makes sense - especially given the rumours that we’ll be seeing more of the game in December.

An official release date reveal next month at The Game Awards, perhaps? We’ll have to wait and see.
