'LEGO Star Wars' Players Are Beating Up Child Anakin For A Good Reason

Players of the new LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga have been taking their lightsabers to the young Anakin Skywalker, and it’s not even to prevent him from becoming Darth Vader.

In our eight out of ten review, Tom praised the “hilarious LEGO humour, gameplay built by fans, and how exploring the entire galaxy is a joy”, though he does mention that there are “a few glitches”. These glitches haven’t gone unnoticed by the players, who have already started exploiting them in order to get through the game faster and to complete difficult challenges more easily.

If you are new to LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga take a lovely look at the video below.

You don’t need cheats to pull off this newly found trick, which allows players to cross gaps and climb high structures with ease. This new trick was found as developer, TT Games, didn’t want players slaughtering younglings much like Anakin murders all the sand people in the prequels.

Usually, when an enemy is attacked they shatter into little LEGO bricks. When slashing down your good pal child Anakin however, he just flashes red to show he’s been hit. This interaction can be exploited for the player’s benefit. When attacking, the character locks on and moves towards your desired target. As Anakin never dies, you can use this to move while in the air.

As spotted by Eurogamer, Twitter user, Red Orb Fragment has found a way to abuse the game’s physics, and young Anakin, to reach unintended areas. The attack patterns vary based on the character you are using. Qui-Gon Jinn can be used to cross wide gaps, while Obi-Wan Kenobi will help you travel vertically and reach high platforms.

Turns out there is reason to attack young Anakin even without him turning into the galaxy’s most evil villain. So whack away young padawan.
