Folks, prepare yourselves, and more importantly, your bank account. LEGO has now announced yet another incredible set which is releasing later this year, just months after bankrupting us all with The Lord of the Rings: Rivendell set.
In case you missed it, the Rivendell set was first revealed back in February, and it is glorious. The 6,167-piece set depicts the iconic Middle-earth location in beautiful blocky detail, and also comes with 15 minifigures, including the nine Fellowship members and four hobbits. It’s genuinely stunning, but as you’d expect, also costs a pretty penny - if you’re willing to shell out £429.99/$499.99, it’s still available to buy now.

Well, assuming that you didn’t blow your entire budget on that, LEGO has revealed the Batman Shadow Box set - a brilliant 3981-piece set which doubles as a display piece and interactive toy based on the Batcave from Batman Returns. It can be kept closed and function as a 3D diorama (complete with a cutout in the shape of the Bat-insignia), or opened up so that you can mess around with all the gadgets inside.

“At the heart of the set is the Caped Crusader’s Batmobile and, just like Batman’s Batcave, the set features clever functions and gadgets including the ability to move furniture, change images on the big screen, open a vault and open a door, and a light brick,” a press release published on the LEGO site reads. “In addition, the set comes with brand new minifigures of Catwoman and The Penguin, as well as various minifigures including Bruce Wayne, Alfred Pennyworth, and Max Shreck.”
As you’d imagine though, this set doesn’t come cheap - it’ll retail for £344.99/ $399.99. LEGO VIPs can grab it from 5 June, while everyone else can buy it from 8 June (it’s the same price for both releases - VIPs just get a bit of a head start).
