When it comes to DC games, nobody makes them like Rocksteady. The Batman: Arkham games are regarded as some of the best superhero video games ever made, with the only real competition being Marvel’s Spider-Man.

The Batman: Arkham Trilogy will soon be arriving on Nintendo Switch for the first time, which you can check out below.

Unfortunately, Rocksteady put an end to its Batman games back in 2015 with a legendary finale, Batman: Arkham Knight.

Now, they’re branching out to the wider DC universe with Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, a third-person shooter that sees the supervillains Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark team up for an impossible mission.

While it sounds cool in concept, fans have been less than excited about the game’s release, which was delayed not too long ago to early 2024. The latest gameplay has failed to impress potential fans, and the looming live-service elements like the battle pass haven’t done the game any favours either.

That being said, a potential saving grace could be the game’s open world. Rocksteady delivered a stylish interpretation of Gotham City in Arkham Knight, and will hopefully do the same with a new location, Metropolis, the home of Superman.

In the latest behind-the-scenes look at the game, Rocksteady confirmed traversal would still be "at the very core of the game," much like the Arkham games which saw the caped-crusader glide, and eventually drive, to wherever he was needed.

It went on to say each villain/hero traverses Metropolis differently, with the given example being Harley Quinn who uses a grapple gun to "take advantage of the environment.”

Only time will tell if Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League can live up to the legacy of the Batman: Arkham games. For now though it looks pretty underwhelming, and a far cry from the superhero adventures Rocksteady is best known for.
