The Lord Of The Rings trilogy is headed back to Netflix

Nature is healing.

The Lord of the Rings trilogy is confirmed to be returning to Netflix after a nearly a three year absence, and frankly, there is no better time for it.

We're nearly at the end of January and one more month of winter remains. It's getting lighter in the mornings and evenings and the weather is changing from freezing clear skies to freezing carpets of cloud and misty rain. Scratch all of that if you live in the southern hemisphere, you felicitous child of Dionysus. But if you'd proposition me on a Friday evening and say, bring all of your snacks because we're watching every The Lord of the Rings film tonight on Netflix, I'd reply, "I'm outside."

Check out the trailer for The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, a new story-driven action adventure centring on the complex character, below:

This announcement is likely to be sweet music to the ears of fans who satiated their appetite for more Middle-earth content with Amazon's The Rings of Power. As Jeff Bezos' passion project, it became the most expensive TV show to ever be made, and it truly looks it. Yet, it was marred with outrage from so-called fans that couldn't comprehend elves and dwarves could be Black - though fortunately the response to this racism was swift and reproachful.

While The Rings of Power did offer a lens into a never-before-seen era of Tolkien's fantasy world, sometimes you want to scratch the itch with the classics. Netflix US receives The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and The Return of the King on 1 February, and we hope that the trilogy rolls out to other territories not long after.
