Marvel Black Panther actor Tenoch Huerta has been accused of sexual assault

Allegations have been made against yet another star of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In March 2023, Kang the Conqueror actor Jonathan Majors was arrested on charges of assault and harassment regarding a domestic violence dispute. The charges were made by a 30-year-old woman that was taken to hospital with “minor injuries to her head and neck”.

Majors was soon dropped from his talent agency following the allegations of assault, while rumours began circulating across the internet that Marvel was considering recasting the role of Kang the Conquerer. However, those reports are contradictory to others that claim Marvel has no plans to recast, despite the allegations.

At the time of the charges being made, Majors’ attorney said that the actor is “innocent and has not abused anyone. We have provided irrefutable evidence to the District Attorney that the charges are false. We are confident that he will be fully exonerated.”

Now, yet another MCU actor is facing serious allegations. As reported by Los Angeles Times, Tenoch Huerta, who played King Namor, the ruler of Atlantis in 2022’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, faces sexual assault allegations made by musician María Elena Ríos. In a series of tweets, the saxophone player labelled Huerta as a “sexual predator”.

“It is very difficult to talk about the emotional abuse and abuse of power of a sexual predator who is loved in the world for playing a character in a movie like Tenoch Huerta. Charming in appearance, the great hallmark of a narcissist [plus] a good helping of victimisation,” tweeted Ríos (translated by Google).

The musician continued: "'And why didn't you report?' They say [to] those who live in a macho country, where justice is unattainable, where they almost kill you and still they don't believe you or justice comes. And no, I don't want to be famous. And no, I don't want money because I know how to work.”
