Modern Warfare 2 launch DLC will support IRL veterans

You may have heard of a little game called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. Well, it’s finally release day! It’s looking like a return to form for the franchise, with fans already hailing the “incredible” campaign. If you’re yet to check out the new Amsterdam level, you should. Think of it as the epitome of photorealism (For now, at least).

If you played 2009’s Modern Warfare 2, you may remember the introduction of the tactical nuke. That’s back and it’s received a bit of an overhaul. We also already know that the game is launching with a DLC pack and it’s now been revealed that the DLC will support real-life veterans.

Over on the Call of Duty blog, developers have delved into the contents of the new Call of Duty Endowment (C.O.D.E) Protector Pack. Available now, the pack includes ‘The Protector’ operator skin for Hutch, ‘The Protector’s Companion’ rifle blueprint, ‘Duty Calls’ rifle blueprint, ‘Frontline Stripes’ vehicle skin, ‘Tagged’ weapon charm, ‘Ready For Anything’ animated calling card, ‘Mermen’ calling card, ‘Seeing Double’ static animated emblem, a one hour XP token, plus a one hour weapon XP token.

More importantly though, purchasing the C.O.D.E Protector Pack will support real-life military veterans via the Call of Duty Endowment which helps veterans in the US and UK find high-quality employment following their military tenure. The pack will also be available to Warzone 2.0 players when the title launches on 16 November.

The offer is in place until $4 million has been raised. To date, the Call of Duty Endowment has funded the placement of more than 100,000 veterans into the workplace which is certainly something to be commended.
