Later today, the “era-defining franchise event” Call of Duty Next will be taking place - viewers will be able to tune in on the official Call of Duty YouTube or Twitch channels at 17:30 (UK time) to keep up with all the “innovations” and coverage of upcoming titles which we’ve been promised.

Infinity Ward will be revealing more details on Project Aurora (AKA Warzone Mobile) as well as the Warzone sequel, but perhaps most excitingly, they’ll be delivering the full multiplayer reveal of Modern Warfare II, because we’ve still not actually seen that yet. Ahead of this, as reported by GameSpot, some fans who’ve downloaded the MWII beta have reportedly found options in the game settings for a “3rd Person Field Of View”.

“Some users who have accessed the settings of the #MWII beta file on PS5 have found an FOV slider option as well as a third person field of view option,” Charlie INTEL wrote on Twitter. “There’s also mentions of a ‘Launcher’ system/hub for Call of Duty.”
As GameSpot writes, the original 2009 Modern Warfare 2 included third person modes, so it’d sort of make sense if this new title brought that back. Kind of? It’s a sequel to the 2019 Modern Warfare, but their names are the same, so that’s something? Maybe not. Either way, the early-access beta period on PlayStation consoles begins tomorrow, so things will probably become much clearer then.
