Rust confirmed for Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 beta

Rust confirmed for Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 beta

Rust is making a comeback in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3!

Throughout its lifecycle which began all the way back in 2003, there are plenty of fan-favourite multiplayer maps to choose from in the Call of Duty series.

While, of course, any favourite Call of Duty map is subjective to the individual, some of the firm favourites amongst fans might include the likes of Skyrise, Favela, Terminal, Nuketown, Overgrown, Strike, and Crash.

There are also some very divisive maps - or as we Brits might call them, ‘Marmite’ maps. One map that instantly comes to mind is the confined and chaotic Shipment. A map so small and with so many congested corridors, you’re either going to get the killstreak of a lifetime or absolutely slaughtered. One other map that might fall into the Marmite category is Rust.

Considered to be a spiritual successor to the aforementioned Shipment, Rust is located in an oil yard somewhere in the middle of an Afghanistan desert. Rust features similar confined spaces, but has a tower in the centre of the map which can be a sniper's dream. However, that tower located in the middle of the map can also leave any wannabe sniper exposed. The map is a firm favourite for players who want intense 1v1 battles.

Rust first made its appearance in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (2009) and with the reimagined Modern Warfare III featuring remastered maps of MW2, Rust is not only a guarantee for this year's release but it has also been confirmed for the upcoming beta which kicks off this weekend.

The news of Rust’s arrival in this weekend’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III multiplayer beta was announced on the game's official Twitter account. “On October 5, Rust will be unleashed at #CODNext. Tag who you’d want to see 1v1,” it tweeted.

The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III multiplayer beta will begin this Friday for those who pre-ordered the game on PlayStation, and then for PC and Xbox in the following days.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III will be released on PC, PlayStation and Xbox on 10 November 2023.
