New Pokémon Anime Trailer Is Looking Super Creepy

New Pokémon Anime Trailer Is Looking Super Creepy

The Pokémon Company have officially announced the next dubbed season of the anime, titled Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series.

Did you know that there’s now well over 1000 episodes of the Pokémon anime in existence? Quadruple digits. That’s a whole lot of time dedicated to catching ‘em all, and by the looks of it, dear old Ash still hasn’t actually managed to capture that many. Hard to really make progress when you’re eternally 10 years old, I suppose.

Anyway, today, The Pokémon Company officially announced the next dubbed season of the anime, titled Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series. This 25th season will be premiering around the world this year, with some regions seeing it as soon as spring. So, around now, presumably? Anyway, along with the announcement came a new trailer, and uh, it’s looking pretty weird, to say the least.

Check out the official trailer for Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series right here.

As well as your usual scenes of Pikachu using Thunderbolt and Team Rocket being mercilessly attacked, we also see Ash get possessed, which is certainly something. If you’re desperate to find out the context for that, you can, as that episode already aired in Japan (the 91st Pokémon Journeys episode, ‘The Spectral Empress!’ - you can thank me later).

“The stakes are higher than ever for Ash, Goh and Chloe as they advance toward their goals! As the Pokémon World Coronation Series tournament heats up, intensive training is in store for Ash, Pikachu and their Pokémon friends,” reads the official season synopsis. “Meanwhile, Goh embarks on a series of challenging trial missions to become a member of Project Mew. And as Chloe and Eevee learn about the different evolutionary paths that Eevee can take, will they be able to come to a decision about its future? Get ready for nonstop action, familiar faces from journeys past and more Pokémon discoveries to be made!”

No solid release date for the season has been given just yet, so we’ll just have to stay tuned, and try hard to suppress the memory of whatever the hell just happened in that trailer to a deep, dark corner of our brains.
