Parasite Eve needs a PS5 remake, fans say

Parasite Eve needs a PS5 remake, fans say

Imagine an extremely realistic upgrade on the rat scene. Still convinced?

Last year, Square Enix threw cold water on the speculation that the cult classic survival horror series Parasite Eve would be getting a revival or even a remake. That Symbiogenesis project pertained to a collectible NFT art initiative, though the name was more than perfect for the games which are all about the corruption of biological life to create devastatingly lethal creatures.

In a small way, fans are still hoping that Square Enix is having them on. Heading over to the series' subreddit, there are a scattering of recent petitions for a remake or questions over what you would keep and what would get the chop in a potential remake. Sure, Parasite Eve didn't have the same impact as Silent Hill or Resident Evil, yet its zany mish-mash of ARPG mechanics with skin-crawling scares can't be commended enough.

This original PlayStation got a new lease of life with this painstaking restoration - check out the whole satisfying process below!

Shooting the breeze on the PS5 subreddit, players wondered which remakes they would like to see next, because we have been spoiled with the likes of PS5 remakes including Demon's Souls, Dead Space and Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade. Lo and behold, Parasite Eve reared its head a fair few times.

"Definitely Parasite Eve, I replay it every now and then and think about how amazing it could be on current gen consoles!" said LeonardsLittleHelper. "PE would be awesome survival Horror if done right. Just imagine the horrifying creatures with modern graphics," continued Dark-Cloud666.

However, this could be one of those poisoned chalices I have heard so much about. I've seen what an 8K upscaling of the terrifying rat scene looks like and that sort of power... perhaps it is best locked away.
