While Xbox and PlayStation gamers are waiting for Xbox Game Pass releases and monthly PS Plus Rewards, PC gamers are waiting for Steam to say the word sale. Every so often Steam puts on massive discounts across its vast library and the Winter Sale has just started. So what's on offer?

Let's start with some triple-A deals, shall we? FromSoftware's critically acclaimed Sekiro Shadows Die Twice is 35% off right now at £32.43 in the store while Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Odyssey is only £14.99 during the sale. You can easily get 100 hours of enjoyment out of the latter so it's worth the dough.

Kojima Production's Death Stranding is currently £27.49 - grab that if you're in the mood for long walks with no one around. The Outer Worlds is discounted with a 50% off deal so it's only £24.99 right now. However, if management sims are more your style maybe you'd be interested in Planet Zoo which is currently £17.49.

Other triple-A steals include Halo: The Master Chief Collection at only £17.99, Borderlands 3 for £16.49, Control for £17.49 and FIFA 21 for £25.89.

Problem with these big, big games though, is that these numbers all stack up a bit, don't they? Spending 15 quid once, twice, three times or more for the games you want to try is more of a financial burden than you first realise, so, how about some brilliant indie deals too?

Platforming hit Hollow Knight is only £5.49 while calm Harvest Moon-like Stardew Valley is only £7.36 right now. If you're not already one of the millions playing Among Us it's even cheaper now on Steam for £3.19 and you can get ghosthunting title Phasmophobia for £9.89 right now.

Steam has Papers, Please for £3.49, Return of the Obra Dinn for £11.61, and What Remains of Edith Finch for £5.24. Oh and how about Disco Elysium for only £20.99 - you won't regret playing one of the best RPG mysteries for 40% off, will you?

Oh, it's all getting a bit much, but you get the picture. There a plenty of great deals on offer right now and if you're in the market for any PC games at all, it's definitely worth having a look at the storefront right now. Sale ends January 5.
