This Gaming PC Comes With Built-In PS4 Or Xbox One

A standing O-vation.

Last year, you might remember that Origin PC unveiled an absolute Frankenstein's Monster in the form of the BIG O. The BIG O was, as the name suggests, a big ol' beast of a high-end PC. One that also had a PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch stuffed in there for good measure. After all, why argue over which platform is best when you can have every platform?

Unsurprisingly, the BIG O in its original form was deemed a touch too rich... too decadent for public consumption. The version of the machine we saw was simply a promotional piece made to demonstrate that Origin could create such a beast, and that was that. Or so we thought. From the darkest depths, the BIG O has risen once again to terrorise our wallets - albeit in a much more diminished form.

Origin

As reported by Kotaku, Origin appeared at CES 2020 in Las Vegas to show off the new, slightly less improved BIG O. Rather than attempt to cram in every console, this new model is simply a high-end gaming PC with a PS4 Pro or Xbox One S added in for good measure.

Instead of tucking a console into the casing, Origin has opted to integrate the PS4/Xbox hardware into the machine itself for a sleeker look and feel.

"Built using a modified CORSAIR Crystal Series 280X Micro-ATX chassis BIG O uses the dual-chamber internal layout of the 280X to fit a gaming PC and console on each side of the case," Origin writes.

"Choose between an Xbox One S All-Digital Edition or a PlayStation 4 Pro, and add an optional SSD to play the latest games in your digital library or subscription services with improved load times. Inspired by previous BIG O builds, the new BIG O design can fit a gaming PC and console in one system at a fraction of the cost and size compared to previous BIG O systems."

The PC itself can also be configured with an AMD Ryzen 9 3900X or Intel i9-9900K CPU with a Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 Ti video card and up to 32GB of RAM. Both are impressive, and the whole thing comes with a number of optional upgrades, including an internal video capture card and SSD storage upgrades for the consoles.

Origin

The bad, if predictable, news is that the BIG O ain't cheap. There are plenty of customisation options over on the Origin website, but the absolute cheapest version of the machine seems to be an eye-watering $2,473 (so about £1,883). I have to ask, with the next-gen consoles so close to release, is there any point in investing in something like this? That's up to you, I suppose.
