It's a hit, man.

One of the best games of 2016 will be free to download on PC via the Epic Games Store, and you cannot miss out. If you slept on it the first time around, IO Interactive's Hitman is a genuinely fantastic piece of work - arguably the very best the long-running series has to offer.

The first in what will soon be a trilogy of new Hitman games, 2016's Hitman was a dizzying evolution of the franchise that managed to keep everything we love about Agent 47's macabre adventures and turn it up to 11. Set across a series of stunningly realised sandbox environments, players need to keep track of the schedules of their targets, gather intel, and find the perfect time to strike before slipping away unnoticed. It's a veritable puzzle box of deadly delights.

You might disguise yourself as the chef at a private villa and poison your target's food, taking them out in the bathroom when they sprint away from their armed guards to empty their bowels out. Maybe you'll rig a birthday cake to explode and sneak off into the night. Or maybe you'll accidentally drop a chandelier on all three of your targets at once almost as soon as you stumble into the wrong room. It's up to you, but I definitely recommend that last one.

Assuming I've really gotten your attention with that description, you'll be able to download Hitman on the Epic Games Store starting next week (August 27th). This wonderful title will be joined by the equally amazing Shadowrun Collection, which includes three great tactical RPG games: Shadowrun Returns, Shadowrun Dragonfall - Director's Cut, and Shadowrun Hong Kong - Extended Edition. Plenty to keep you busy next week, then.

In the meantime, be sure to head over to Epic to grab this week's offerings. Enter The Gungeon is an excellent indie bullet hell dungeon crawler that most of us have already played... but it's always worth revisiting. And obviously, if you have yet to check it out, now is the time to get on it. You can also claim God's Trigger, which is basically a super gory top-down shoot-'em-up with serious Hotline Miami vibes. Good stuff.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go re-download Hitman because I've really made myself want to play it.
