Assassin's Creed Brotherhood: A New Beginning is a stunning fan remaster

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood: A New Beginning is a stunning fan remaster

We love to see fans breathe new life into beloved games, especially when it's an AC classic

Right now, a lot of Assassin’s Creed content we see is directed at Mirage, understandably so. However, while the latest in the franchise is giving loyal fans hope that the games are returning to their former glory, others are more interested in stunning remasters, like we’re seeing from Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood: A New Beginning.

When AC Brotherhood first came out in 2010, it was well received, as were all the Ezio-related titles from the series; as fans have attested, the Ezio trilogy was “peak AC”. It had everything: great location, strong story, well-developed characters, and smart ways to kill your way through Italy one mark at a time.

Talk about a stunning game – just look at AC Mirage's The Round City

Since then, the franchise has… waned… with many players arguing that Valhalla is the weakest game thus far. Whether you agree with that or not, the fact remains that the older Assassin’s Creed titles are among the best, consequently leading to numerous mods improving their dated graphics, like A New Beginning. To say this remaster is stunning is an understatement.

It delivers vastly improved textures, new lighting exteriorly and interiorly, and has removed Bloom Supernova – in short, it’s brought this 13 year old game back to life. If Mirage hasn’t quite soothed that AC itch you’ve got – though many have claimed it’s a return to the good ol’ days – this remaster is another solid route to take.

Those who’ve installed the remaster have been thanking the modder who created this remaster for their hard work, with one happy user saying, “It's really touching to see someone making mods for this ancient game to this day. Thank you for your contribution to this game!” We second that thanks wholeheartedly. In an age where backwards compatibility still leaves a lot to be desired, at least in some instances, it’s great that fans are offering their hard work and time to enhance classic games.

If you’re interested in seeing just how amazing this fan remaster is, head over to NexusMods (where else). I promise you, you won’t be disappointed. At the time of writing this, the last update for the mod was July 2023, with it reportedly being the “final version”, meaning you lucky lot get to experience this mod at its very best.
