Details for the next Call Of Duty game have already surfaced online, despite Modern Warfare III not even being cold yet.
The next entry in the enormous Call Of Duty franchise, Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare III, has been a bit of a mixed bag amongst fans. The general consensus is the 3-hour campaign is a major step down from the last game, the Zombies mode is a shell of what it once was, and the multiplayer is fine, mainly because nothing about it has changed.

Mix all of that together and you get the worst-rated COD in years, as well as one of the lowest-rated games of the year according to Metacritic.

In fact, many wouldn’t even consider it to be a standalone release, as many are calling it a full-price DLC for Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare II and are outraged that Activision would cancel planned expansions for the second game in favour of an underbaked separate release.
Despite the controversy though Activision obviously considers the game to be a success, and is thanking fans for their “great” responses to the game. It also seems to already have the ball rolling on the next game as well.
Details on the unannounced title have reportedly appeared online, stating it’ll be developed by Treyarch and while the title hasn’t been decided yet it’ll take place sometime in the Gulf War. It’s also believed it’ll touch on plot points and characters seen in Call Of Duty Black Ops: Cold War.
The next title will apparently once again ditch the futuristic tech in previous Call Of Duty games and focus more on historical weapons and gadgets.

It’s apparently eyeing up a 2024 release, likely launching in the same window as most Call Of Duty games late into the year possibly around November/December.
