We often hear about Epic Games or Steam, with gamers waving banners for their preferred store of choice, but what about GOG? The Cyberpunk 2077 publisher has a stellar selection of titles, often free of charge, yet it feels like this digital distributor gets forgotten like an old cardigan under someone’s bed.
This month alone, not only is GOG offering two – that’s right, two – The Elder Scrolls games for nothing, but the CD Projekt Red company also has a whopping 40 plus games you can download, right now, also without spending a single penny. Titles include Quake II RTX, Fall of Porcupine: Prologue, and Sang-Froid: Tales of Werewolves. In addition to these free games, there’s also a juicy sale which offers the likes of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition for just £3.

So, why oh why do gamers keep sleeping on this hidden gem of a store? According to Redditor taisui, the hint is in the name of the site itself, “It's "Good Old Games" for a reason, they don't usually carry new titles except their own…” Arguably, there’s some truth there, in that GOG, aka Good Old Games, has an abundance of classic titles available.

However, to pretend the majority of the titles are old classics is inaccurate, as another gamer was quick to point out, “Vast majority of the games that get added to the store are new games though. they stopped being "Good Old Games" around a decade ago when they decided to also have new games coming to their store.”
Whether there are more old or new games seems immaterial, because GOG is a goldmine of games that has it all – “free games, low prices, EZ install, customer reviews, better UI than Epic, even the installer is good”. There’s so much going for it, it seems only fair that we here at GAMINGbible remind you of what you might be missing via the most important critics of all: the gamers.
