Cyberpunk 2077 publisher giving away biggest open-world RPG ever made for free

GOG is giving away the fantastic Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall for free, and fans won’t want to miss out on its open-world goodness.

As far as Elder Scrolls games go, Daggerfall is pretty outdated compared to the likes of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and the upcoming Elder Scrolls VI.

That being said it’s not a game to sleep on, as despite its age Daggerfall boasts the biggest open-world in the series, and even gives other RPGs a run for their money in size and scale.

This is all thanks to the game’s procedural generation, with the full size of the map being 161,600 kilometres, which for reference is just over ¾ of the size of Great Britain.

If you’ve never given it a go before but would like to, you're in luck, as the GOG, owned by Cyberpunk 2077’s publisher CD Projekt Red has made the game free for a limited time.

This isn’t the first Bethesda game GOG has given away as not too long ago they were giving fans the chance to download and keep the first two Fallout games, which still hold up quite nicely despite the series fully-embracing 3D graphics.

The second Elder Scrolls game will be free to download for the foreseeable future, with no indication as to when it’ll return to its usual price.

It’ll certainly keep you occupied too, as the main story takes around 30 hours to complete, and when you add on all the side quests, exploration and wiggle room for backtracking the completionist playthroughs end at just over 200 hours.

Daggerfall is free to download right now, and is highly recommended for retro fans, as well as Elder Scrolls fans interested in seeing some of the origins of the series.
