GTA VI is still a year away, so fans are returning to Simpsons Hit And Run of all things to pass the time.

Grand Theft Auto is one of the biggest franchises on the planet, with each new game raking in more sales and positive reviews than the one before it. GTA V was an enormous success for Rockstar Games, eventually surpassing 180 million sales, and earning $1 billion faster than any other media product.

It’ll soon be surpassed by GTA VI, which recently shared its first trailer, which you can watch below

GTA VI is set to launch sometime in 2025, though an exact date hasn’t been shared at the time of writing. Fans have their theories though, believing it’ll be earlier in the year rather than later.

In the meantime, fans are looking for other games to occupy their time with before the next big release, and Reddit user metalama has made a perfect choice. The user made a post saying: “Hoping this will hold me off until GTA VI comes out,” while holding a copy of Simpsons Hit And Run.

Simpsons Hit And Run is essentially a Grand Theft Auto clone but with Simpsons characters. Instead of shooting guns and blowing things up, you’re instead tasked with driving around Springfield completing missions, with a healthy dose of slapstick comedy as you kick civilians down the street, they’re fine though, we promise.

Fans were thrilled with the game selection, many of whom shared their admiration for the game, as well as a desire to see it remade for a new audience.

“This was The Simpsons version of GTA and it was great. I can’t believe it hasn’t been remastered or rereleased.”

“Remake when?”

“Easily one of the greatest games ever made, no exaggeration.”\

It might not feature the same level of open-ended exploration and extreme violence as Grand Theft Auto, but Simpsons Hit And Run is still a phenomenal game, and well worth playing while you wait for GTA VI.
