Nintendo Switch 2 release date and price predicted by analysts

Nintendo Switch 2 release date and price predicted by analysts

The Nintendo Switch 2 could arrive this year with a big price tag

It’s been over two years since the current-gen PlayStation and Xbox consoles graced our presence and fans have been wondering when will the next Nintendo system arrive. Well, it seems the Nintendo Switch 2 could arrive this year, according to an analyst.

Rumours of the Nintendo Switch 2 have been rampant for a while, but as of yet, Nintendo hasn't announced when its next console may or may not arrive. It’s believed that the Nintendo Switch 2 will arrive this year, and an analyst has backed up those claims along with its potential price.

The original Nintendo Switch was released in 2017, so by the time the second console eventually arrives, roughly six years may have passed. During that time, the Nintendo Switch has seen some amazing titles such as The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and the Super Mario RPG remake. That being said, some Nintendo fans may feel that it’s time for the Japanese gaming giant to release its next-generation console.

As reported by GamesIndustry.biz, Kantan Games analyst Dr Serkan Toto believes that not only will the Nintendo Switch 2 arrive at some point this year, but it will also carry a price of $400. If true, going by the price of the current console, it means that the Nintendo Switch 2 could be priced at around £350 to £380 in the UK. To compare notes, when the Nintendo Switch originally launched, it had a price of $299.99 in the US and £279.99 in the UK.

Dr Serkan Toto also stated that the rumoured Nintendo Switch Pro was in development at some point. However, if the Switch 2 is to be released in 2024, perhaps the pro console might not arrive. That being said, this is Nintendo and it does like to release multiple versions of the same console.

At this time, we should take the rumours of the Nintendo Switch 2 with a pinch of salt until proven otherwise, but hopefully, we will get official confirmation either way in the coming months.
