Fallout New Vegas has received a fantastic new update that you can download for free, and introduces RTX to the RPG.

It goes without saying that Fallout: New Vegas is the undisputed champion of Bethesda’s post-apocalyptic survival series, so much so that the developer has struggled to do much better.

Speaking of Fallout, the live-action show will soon be dropping on Amazon Prime, check out the trailer below

Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 (after all the updates) are fine games, and they certainly have their fans, but there’s no denying that Fallout: New Vegas just had a certain charm about it that keeps players coming back for more.

If you’re on Xbox and PlayStation, I’m afraid you're restricted to replaying the base game, which for the record isn’t a bad thing.

However if you’re on PC you’re in an entirely different world, as there’s a never-ending assortment of mods and other additions you can download to bolster your gameplay.

One such mod makes significant changes to the game’s graphics, and while it still doesn’t look like it belongs on a current-gen system like some of these Unreal Engine 5 remakes do, it still looks fantastic nonetheless.

It enables RTX Path Tracing, which essentially means the lighting and shadows look a heck of a lot better than they do in the base game.

Again, it still doesn’t look particularly life-like due to the art style and overall graphical quality, but what it does do is add a bit more atmosphere to the game.

With the darkness being… well… darker and the lighting popping just that little bit more you can strut through the Mojave with an entirely new perspective, and it also makes whatever abandoned buildings you come across a little bit creepier.

Fallout: New Vegas has aged like a fine wine over the years, but with the power of mods it can be made even better, with this RTX mod being a perfect example.
