Skyrim: Carved Brink is a stunning free quest in a brand-new area

Carved Brink is fantastic mod that introduces a brand new quest for those looking to overhaul their Skyrim experience.

You know the drill by now. The Elder Scrolls VI remains a long way off, but the blow is softened by the fact that Skyrim boasts one of the best modding communities out there.

There are so many incredible mods that can totally overhaul your gameplay experience. From Skygerfall, which introduces Daggerfall’s main quest into Skyrim, to the Lovecraftian inspired Calling The Watchmaker, there’s plenty to keep us busy in the lead up to The Elder Scrolls VI. The enormous Lordbound mod project also now finally has a release window. That’s most definitely one to look forward to. Today though, it’s Carved Brink that I’d like to draw your attention to.

Take a look at some of our Skyrim wins and fails below.

Carved Brink is the work of NexusMods user HaemProjects and introduces an enormous new quest. The mod will take you to several new locations including Peryite’s The Pits and two goblin-inhabited cities. There are over 40 locations in total, some small and some large. The mod also introduces vertical gameplay, new enemies, new weapons, new armour, and two main quest lines.

There’s the daedric trial quest and another the creator simply refers to as a “funny adventure”. These are in addition to several side quests that’ll help you to get acquainted with the new locations’ goblin inhabitants. Carved Brink features over 50 fully voiced NPCs and 14 lovely music compositions by German composer ForhirMusic.

Surely that’s left you feeling intrigued? The mod is available to download for free from NexusMods for Skyrim Legendary Edition on PC and Skyrim Special Edition on PC and Xbox. It exists in addition to the main game, so you won't find too many base game features affected, and you don’t need any other mods or plugins. Enjoy!
