New Unreal Engine 5 horror is the most unsettling game I've ever seen

A new Unreal Engine 5 horror might just be the most unsettling game I've ever seen.

It is almost Halloween which means it's time to suffer with some horror games. I will not be partaking because I value the small amount of sanity I have left but those who are feeling brave enough should keep an eye on ILL, a psychological horror game made in Unreal Engine 5.

Created by Team Clout, ILL is already being hailed as one of the most unsettling horror games of all time. The narrative-driven first-person survival horror game is set in a small town with an unsettling truth and its inhabitants have seemingly turned into bloodthirsty creatures. “Brace yourself for an intense body horror with an advanced dismemberment system, dynamic enemy behaviour, complex weapon mechanics, an immersive interactive world, and strategic survival and crafting mechanics, all contributing to an unforgettable visceral journey into despair,” reads the official Steam synopsis.

Take a look at Ill in action below.

I had already checked out after “advanced dismemberment system” but if you are still on board, there is a new 4K trailer showing ILL in all its gory glory. Combining animated clips from the developers in Blender, the trailer shows some of the gameplay you can expect from the horror title. Showing a Spider Lady crawling along a hallway and the Forest God inhabiting a pitch black forest is just some of what you can expect from ILL.

To survive against these creatures, you must scavenge for vital supplies, employ diverse strategies and craft essential tools to enhance your weaponry. Most importantly, you will need to have a strong stomach as Team Clout claims to have “pushed the boundaries of horror” offering a “visceral and realistic depiction of body horror.”

ILL is yet to receive an official release date. In a recent Patreon post, the development team has said although it is going through some changes, they are still very much working on the game and supporters can expect it soon.
