Unreal Engine 5 horror is the most realistic looking game we've ever seen

Horror games are starting to use Unreal Engine 5 now, and while it’s cool to see it’s also absolutely horrifying.

As someone who adores horror games but is bad at them (I tend to miss the jumpscares because I’m looking elsewhere) the idea that future releases will look more and more lifelike with Unreal Engine really excites me.

With that in mind something that recently caught my eye was Industria 2, an upcoming horror release built with Unreal Engine 5 which not only looks gorgeous but also incredibly spooky.

Its budget is on the smaller side, but you wouldn’t think so at first glance due to the quality of its graphics and gameplay.

Armed with one of five weapons, though I’m sure like many horror games the shotgun will be your best friend, the player will embark on a psychological trip filled with monsters and creepy locations, all of which look gorgeous.

The game will also feature a crafting and inventory system, which sounds quite similar to the recent Resident Evil games, as well as physics-based interactions no doubt made possible by the advanced game engine.

It’s also said there will be body dismemberment if that’s your cup of tea, and the development of the game also included Lumen, which enables pretty stellar lighting effects.

Industria 2 is a bit on the shorter side as a game, clocking in at around 4-6 hours according to the developers but I in a world full of AAA releases hitting 30-60 hours to beat a bit of quality over quantity doesn’t go amiss every now and then.

At the time of writing there’s no word on when the game will be officially released, though when it does it certainly looks like one to check out.
