Baldur's Gate 3 PlayStation 5 early download confirmed

Baldur's Gate 3 PlayStation 5 early download confirmed

PlayStation 5 users will be able to pre-download Baldur's Gate 3 early, it's been confirmed.

We had a sneaky feeling that Baldur’s Gate 3 would be a delight, but it’s truly taken the world by storm.

Already, Baldur’s Gate 3 is the tenth highest-rated game of all-time - beating The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom to become 2023’s best-rated game. It’s a whopper of a game that’s certain to keep us busy for months - which is somewhat of a conundrum with Starfield on the horizon. Somehow though, one player has managed to smash through the 200 hour RPG in just 10 minutes. Yes, minutes, not hours. As you may have heard, Baldur’s Gate 3 is packed with weird romance options. I’m guessing you’ve seen the viral bear clip, but did you know you can also romance a Mind Flayer? PS5 players will soon be able to join in on the fun when the game drops on 6 September but if you want to get ahead, you can pre-download the game now.

Take a look at Baldur’s Gate 3 in action below.

We don’t know the exact file size of the PS5 version of Baldur’s Gate 3 just yet, but seeing as the PC version clocked in at 122GB, we should expect a chungus. Therefore, you’re going to want to get downloading it as soon as possible. There’s nothing worse than waiting for a lengthy download on release day. The good news is that if you’ve digitally pre-ordered the game, you can pre-load it starting from 1 September so you’re all ready and sorted for release day.

As I mentioned, release day falls on 6 September. If you’ve pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition though, you’ll get 72 hours of early access and will be able to play the game from 3 September.

As you may have noticed, 6 September is shaping up to be a busy day if you’re a multi-console owner. Baldur’s Gate 3 on PS5 and Starfield on Xbox/PC? Yikes. I don’t know whether to be excited or scared. Maybe it’s okay to feel both.
