GTA 6 meets Assassin's Creed Japan in new PlayStation exclusive

GTA 6 meets Assassin's Creed Japan in upcoming PlayStation 5 exclusive, Rise of the Ronin.

Sony is at it again and this time they've joined forces with Team Ninja to bring us Rise of the Ronin - an upcoming action RPG that combines elements of Grand Theft Auto VI and Assassin’s Creed.

First announced in September last year, Rise of the Ronin has already been likened to titles and franchises including Assassin’s Creed, Ghost of Tsushima and Dark Souls - and so it is no surprise that fans are beyond excited for Team Ninja’s latest title.

Check out the Rise of the Ronin trailer below!

Set across a war-torn 19th-century Japan, the combat-focused open-world RPG will tell the story of a nameless warrior who must forge their own path in a land overcome with war, disease and political unrest. It has been three centuries under the oppressive rule of the Tokugawa Shogunate and now the Black Ships of the West are descending upon the nation’s borders. Whether you like it or not, you now find yourself with the fate of Japan in your hands.

From the creators of Nioh and NINJA GAIDEN comes an RPG where choices matter and the story will unfold based on the decisions you make. Choose everything from who you romance to who you assassinate but be ready to face the consequences. As well as a multi-choice system, Rise of the Ronin will also feature an authentic 1863 Japan as well as engaging and accessible combat.

As with most upcoming games, Rise of the Ronin was also victim to leaks back in July and multiple leaked screenshots showed a rumoured skill/technique tree, difficulty options, numerous side-quests, performance and quality modes, planned romance options and also a hint that we could see the title released sometime in Q1 of 2024.

Although this date is yet to be confirmed by Team Ninja, all the rumoured features have made fans even more excited for the upcoming RPG. Let us hope it lives up to the hype!
