A new God Of War RPG has been announced, though it might not be the series continuation fans have been hoping for.

After the emotional events of God Of War Ragnarök, fans have been left wondering what’s next for the series. The last two games have followed Kratos and his son Atreus in a war with Odin, but despite that being over now, there are still a lot of loose ends to tie up.

Many fans believe the PlayStation-exclusive series will once again jump to a new mythology, possibly in Egypt, whereas others believe the next game will revolve around Atreus becoming the man he was almost meant to be.

In any case, everyone has their eyes peeled for a new game announcement which some insiders claim is on the way, though exactly when is purely speculation.

In the meantime, a new God Of War game has been announced, though it’s probably not the one you expected.

The God Of War series will officially be the next video game franchise to be adapted into a board game, spearheaded by Cmon, the series behind the hit board game series Zombicide.

It turns out Cmon has tackled the God Of War series before with a card game of the same name, but is now converting the series into miniature figurines and a tabletop RPG.

The description for the new board game says it’ll follow Kratos and Atreus during their adventures through The Nine Realms, where they’ll meet familiar characters, and tackle “fearsome creatures and powerful Gods.”

It’s said Cmon is working directly with Santa Monica Studios to craft an accurate depiction of the game world, and the full board game is set for release sometime in 2025, though a crowdfund will be set up in 2024 to help production.
