PlayStation 6 leaked specs suggest it's more powerful than than next Xbox

Here comes more ammo for the zealous fanboys and girls to use the next time they shout which is the better console: the PlayStation 6 is reportedly going to exceed the power of the next Xbox console.

This will please the already thrilled PlayStation fans who are reveling in the possibilities of Xbox games now headed to their beloved platform. Oh yes, the days of exclusives seem to be on the way out, at least as far as Xbox is concerned – it’s been all but publicly confirmed by Phil Spencer.

Yet, according to an insider, titles like Starfield aren’t destined for the PlayStation, at least not any time soon. We’re really getting a lot of mixed messages here. Yet, one message that isn’t ambiguous is Sony’s plan to annihilate its competition with a powerful console that Xbox has no hope of keeping up with.

We would like to add the disclaimer here that, while the source of these leaked specs is considered reliable by many, it doesn’t mean we should take their words as gospel. We’re just trying to avoid you getting disappointed and annoyed at us.

YouTuber Red Gaming Tech claims that Sony started development for the PS6 last year, something that plenty of gamers suspected but hadn’t had confirmed or acknowledged by official sources. Not that Red Gaming Tech is official, just as a quick reminder.

The YouTuber also said that it’s likely that the PS6 will use AMD technology, alongside the general belief that Sony will be aiming to utilise ray tracing/path tracing to beat its rivals into submission. However, whether such technology will be more affordable by 2028 – the supposed release date for the PS6 – remains to be seen. If it’s not, the PS6 is going to price a lot of gamers out.

Either way, though, Sony is intending to go big with its next console. The question now is whether Microsoft will be ready to combat that might…?
