PlayStation drops £322 worth of free games for you this Christmas

PlayStation drops £322 worth of free games for you this Christmas

A lot of bang for your buck

With the latest update to PlayStation Plus, Sony has added several games that offer huge value for money.

Among the selection of games are some blockbuster AAA titles, plus some retro-inspired action titles. Considering you're only paying a small amount for the PlayStation Plus subscription, you're getting around £322 worth of entertainment from the likes of GTAV, Mega Man 11, Metal: Hellsinger, and Tinykin.

GTAV leads the pack in the latest update to PlayStation Plus

Just GTAV alone will give you hundreds of hours of enjoyment. MetaGame clocks in the crime spree action game as having a length of 246 hours, which will easily keep you occupied over the Christmas season. If you’re a racing fan there’s the well-regarded MotoGP23, or if you prefer a hard-as-nails MetroidVania, you have Salt and Sacrifice which does a great job of using the SouldBorne formula in a 2D space.

One very helpful Redditor has compiled all the new games into a thread along with their ‘time to complete’ lengths, difficulty ratings, trophy count, and much more. Below the thread’s original post, there are many players cheering on the new inclusions, particularly GTAV. It’s a resounding celebration as many believe this is a great month for the subscription offering a balance of genres.

With all the excitement for GTAVI it’s no surprise that we get to play the latest in the franchise for free. It’s a great way to hype up the players and make sure the game stays on everyone’s mind.

I wholeheartedly recommend Tinykin which is a great platformer that also riffs on Pikmin. I’m personally very excited about Stranger of Paradise. It passed me by when it was first released and while it had a bit of a mixed reception, I’m a huge Final Fantasy fan and would like to play it to complete the series. What games are you looking forward to trying out this month?
