PlayStation Plus subscribers have last chance to claim one of the biggest open world games ever

PlayStation users have one last chance to get a massive open world game for free

When it comes to open world video games we all know that bigger doesn't necessarily mean better.

Ask most people their thoughts on Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Assassin's Creed Odyssey and they'll likely agree that the games are simply too damn big. Skyrim, meanwhile, is far from the largest open world we've ever seen, but is hands-down among the most memorable.

Take a look at some of the best Skyrim wins and fails below!

With that said, sometimes we do just want a massive open world adventure to really get stuck into, don't we? The good news is PlayStation Plus subscribers can grab just such a game right now, but be aware it won't remain among the service's library of free games for much longer.

Ambitious open-world Ubisoft racer The Crew 2 will officially be leaving PlayStation Plus Extra from 15 August, meaning you only have a few more weeks to download and check out the chunky title. I mean, you could also just buy it I guess, if you're into that kind of thing.

The Crew 2's map is an incredible 5,000-7,000 km² and has over 10,000 kilometers of drivable roads, making it one of the biggest open world games out there in terms of pure scale. The game allows you to drive across almost the entirety of America (scaled down, of course), and it would take you over an hour to drive from end to end.

But, as we've made very clear, size isn't everything. Should you want to check out The Crew 2 you should be aware it's not the most universally acclaimed racer. But if you're looking to kill a few hours tearing it up across a virtual America or are genuinely curious to see with your own eyes how big this one is? Well, this is absolutely the best time to download it and see.
