Shop smarter, not harder

If you've been holding off on buying some of the year's biggest games for whatever reason, now is the time to strike on PlayStation thanks to a special bonus promotion.

As I'm sure most PlayStation gamers know, the PlayStation Stars loyalty scheme is a great way to earn back some cash from certain purchases.

Through this program (which is free to sign up for) you can earn all manner of free downloads, and even points that can be traded in for free store credit.

Each month, PlayStation Stars will highlight a specific set of games which you can earn bonus points on by buying, effectively giving you a little bit of money back from your purchase.

It's not a ton of store credit, I admit, but it adds up. It's also worth noting you have to be signed up to PlayStation Stars before you make these purchases, or you won't get the points. So if you're interested, maybe do that before reading any further.

From now until 30 April, you can get your mitts on 50 bonus points for buying any one of the following games:

  • Rise of the Ronin
  • Dragon's Dogma 2
  • Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
  • Unicorn Overlord
  • Contra: Operation Galuga
  • The Outlast Trials

If you were already thinking about picking any of these up, there definitely isn't a better time. I should also say there are two GAMINGbible 10/10s in that list.

I reviewed Dragon's Dogma 2 and absolutely fell in love with it, while my esteemed colleague had a blast with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

Rise Of The Ronin and The Outlast Trials are also great fun, so you really can't go wrong with any of the games mentioned here.

Just remember you only have until the end of April to claim bonus points on these games, and you won't get points if you haven't already signed up to PlayStation Stars before you make the purchase.

I'm aware I already said that, but it definitely bears repeating. Also, I have a word count to fill.
