Like it or, Xbox exclusives are headed to other consoles; it's the future. However, one game's future has been more unknown than the others, leaving both Xbox and PlayStation gamers wondering what's to become of it.
Starfield, while not as treasured as Bethesda had hoped, is a game that plenty of PlayStation 5 owners want to try for themselves – better to have first-hand experience than secondary information from disgruntled players. Despite all the Xbox third-party controversy that angered fans, Xbox titles are still going to arrive on PS5. That being said, Starfield isn't one of them. At least not any time soon.

Learning this comes at a time when Starfield has just received an update that's added some big changes. Changes that only Xbox and PC fans will be savouring for the time being.

Xbox's Phil Spencer had this to say on the matter of exclusives, "I don't think we should, as an industry, ever rule out a game going to any other platform." Spencer continued, focusing on the four confirmed multiplatform titles, "We're focused on these four games and learning from the experience. I don't want to create a false expectation on those other platforms that this is somehow the first four to get over the dam and then the dam's going to open and everything else is coming. That's not the plan today."
If that isn't enough evidence for you, Window Central's Jez Cordon tweeted "Nobody at Microsoft/subsidiaries is working on Starfield for PS5 today." Of course, this doesn't mean that it'll never happen, however, it's clear that Xbox is focused on other pressing matters.
Undoubtedly, this will be disappointing news for PS5 fans who've been keeping everything crossed for Starfield coming to Sony. Nevertheless, while not great news, it also highlights that the door is still open, albeit slightly, on the possibility in the future.
