PlayStation fans might finally get the chance to play Starfield, and several other Xbox exclusives, on PlayStation according to insider sources.
It’s no secret that Xbox and PlayStation have been battling for exclusive games for several years now. PlayStation has seemingly always led the charge in this regard with heavy-hitters like The Last Of Us, the God Of War games and of course Marvel’s Spider-Man.

Recently Xbox has been bolstering its own library of games with some exclusive releases of its own, most notably Starfield, Avowed and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

In a surprising twist though it seems like Microsoft is now aiming to release its games on every platform possible, including Sony’s, starting with Starfield.
As reported by XboxEra, Xbox is now planning to release Bethesda’s space-faring RPG on the PS5 sometime in the future. This will reportedly be after the game’s first expansion, Shattered Space, and it’s said Xbox is even investing in PlayStation 5 dev-kits in order to make it happen. The Shattered Space DLC will reportedly be released later this year, meaning if they game will be ported to PS5 it’ll happen sometime after.
The same sources also claimed that Xbox is considering the same approach for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, another Bethesda title that was recently planned to release exclusively on the Xbox Series X/S and PC.
The article went on to say: “Microsoft senior leadership have reportedly debated the various pros and cons of releasing more of their exclusive software elsewhere, and internally, not everyone is necessarily happy with the decision, but recouping the potential money ‘left on the table’ by not releasing elsewhere has arguably won out.”

Microsoft is yet to confirm these reports at the time of writing, but if it’s credible it could open the door for other Xbox exclusive franchises to release on PlayStation platforms for the very first time, like Halo or Gears Of War.
