An incredible mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim introduces an entirely new area inspired by the Legacy Of Kain games.

We all know Skyrim is a big game, not as big as it used to be now that we have games like Red Dead Redemption 2 and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla for comparison, but it’s still a sizable world to explore. If you’re like some players who've literally done everything there is to do in the game, you might be wondering what to do next, and the answer is slap in an expansion mod.

Check out The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim below

Mods are beautiful, gorgeous, fantastic things, not only for the quality-of-life changes they can make to graphics and gameplay, but also the way they can extend the shelf-life of a game through the work of dedicated fans writing their own stories for the world to experience.

The mod we’re talking about today not only adds an entirely new island to explore in Skyrim, but also somewhat revives a series that’s been forgotten about over the last few years, Legacy Of Kain.

It’s called Freeport island, and is a recreation of the location Freeport from Legacy Of Kain Blood Omen 2. For those unaware Legacy Of Kain are action-adventure games featuring action and puzzle segments, not dissimilar to The Legend Of Zelda in some ways.

The island features a variety of locations and dungeons to explore, all of which are inspired by various entries in the series. In order to access the island you’ll need to travel to Lake Ilinalta where you can find a boat to take you to Freeport.

There’s a lot of content packed into this mod, and a worthwhile excursion if you fancy a fancy of scenery as well as brand-new story/quest content for a game that’s over a decade old.
