Free PC games: Last chance to grab two celebrated RPGs

Gather round my chums. If you’re on the lookout for a couple of free games, you’re in the right place. You can currently grab two celebrated RPGs on Steam but you’ll have to act fast. The offer runs out later today.

There are actually three games available to nab, but the two aforementioned RPGs are Dungeon of the Endless and The Elder Scrolls Online. If neither of those float your boat, indie adventure-puzzler Murder by Numbers is also available. All three titles are free until 4PM BST today. For my overseas friends, that’s 11AM EST or 8AM PT. I heartily recommend downloading all three. Once you’ve downloaded them, they’re all yours so there’s really no reason why you shouldn’t. If you’re low on space though and looking for some assistance on which game you should grab, allow me to delve into each of these three options.

Speaking of Bethesda, Starfield is set to launch on 6 September.

Dungeon of the Endless was developed by Amplitude Studios and published by SEGA. Released back in 2014, the game is a roguelike dungeon-defence game. The player must, alongside their team, protect the generator of their crashed ship while they’re attacked by increasingly larger waves of enemy monsters. The game received a very respectable score of 79 on Metacritic, which is nothing to turn your nose up at.

Next, we move on to what is perhaps the most well-known game on this list. The Elder Scrolls Online is quite clearly Bethesda and ZeniMax’s MMORPG. Set in Tamriel, players are able to complete quests and free-roam. As an added bonus, if you download The Elder Scrolls Online, you can nab some sweet Fortnite cosmetics inspired by the game and let me tell you, they’re pretty cool.

Finally, we have Murder by Numbers from Fall Guys creators Mediatonic. Released back in 2020, the game is set in Los Angeles in 1996. Honor Mizrahi was an actress on a hit detective TV show but when her boss ends up dead minutes after she’s fired, Honor finds herself in a real life murder mystery. This one also landed a very respectable 79 on Metacritic and I’m definitely going to check it out for myself. Remember, if you want to grab one of the above titles, you have mere hours to do so.
