Skyrim meets Ark in this hugely popular Steam game

Day of Dragons has seen a surge in its player count since the launch of its Update 1.0.

If you happen to enjoy both The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Ark: Survival Evolved, you may want to check out Day of Dragons, a dragon survival game that is taking Steam by storm.

As reported by PCGamesN, Day of Dragons has seen a major surge in its player count since the release of its latest patch - so there really is no better time to try out this PC gem. Developed by Beawesome Games, Day of Dragons actually launched in early access all the way back in 2019. It’s an open world creature survival game where you can either “rule as one of several dragon species, or unlock the secrets to playing as a giant Elemental”.

Skyrim fans are going to have to wait a little bit longer for The Elder Scrolls VI.

Patch 1.0 has just been launched, massively overhauling the game with the biggest change of all being a switch over to Unreal Engine 5. As you can imagine, this means far better optimisation for the game alongside a graphics boost. Additionally, the update has added two new dragons (the Inferno Ravager and Biolumin), updated dragon textures, and updated textures across the game’s open world.

It’s easily the most transformative update to hit the game thus far. The studio’s hard work is clearly already paying off as Day of Dragons has seen a jump in its player count. The previous player peak was recorded during the game’s launch month of December 2019, with a peak of 2,490 players. In recent days, that has been replaced with a new peak of 3,357. It’s not quite on the same level as runaway hits like Palworld and Helldivers 2, but it’s nice to see yet another title exhibiting growth.

Day of Dragons remains in early access. “Great game. Definitely worth $20. The only downside, they are slow to grow. Other than that, worth it,” one player wrote, while another added, “An awesome game to meet people and have a great time! If you love dragons, I recommend this game highly.” Another one to add to the play pile?
