Starfield meets Among Us in upcoming Steam horror

Have you ever wanted to play a game that feels like a sci-fi romping adventure like Starfield, but has the option for you to help or sabotage your colleagues like Among Us? Then an upcoming horror game is going to be the answer to your dreams. Well, video game dreams at least.

I know there are games like Dead Space that are perfect for scratching that sci-fi horror itch, but it’s not a game you can play with friends. Whereas Steam’s upcoming Level Zero, allows you to face the unknown horrors of space while bringing your friends along for the ride – it really is like Among Us grew up and got really dark incredibly fast.

Will you survive Level Zero?

The asymmetric game follows a group of scientists as they try to repair damaged technology in order to escape from whatever is hunting them. Using light as your main weapon, you must work together to get to safety, or you can turn on your comrades and foil their escape attempts.

The latter option isn’t the main intention of the game, but we know that it’s fun to cause chaos when gaming with friends, even more so when the devs describe the maturity rating by saying, “Ability to kill other players”. Come on now, that’s practically telling you to do a bad playthrough at least once.

On the Level Zero website, it says the game is “coming 2023”. Obviously, that isn’t accurate anymore considering 2023 is almost over. On Steam, however, it says that this new survival horror will launch in 2024, with us guessing it’ll be early in the new year rather than later. Moreover, the game will be available on PC and PlayStation, though we’re uncertain whether it’ll come to Xbox – the logo is on the website, but there’s no link to the Xbox store at the moment.

If you don’t want to wait to experience space horrors, you could always use Starfield’s underwater mod to see what monsters are hiding in the murky waters… We'd rather take our chances with scheming friends than aquatic creatures in the deep.
