There’s no doubt The Witcher 3 is one of the greatest games ever made, though even if you’re a die-hard fan multiple playthroughs deep like film star Henry Cavill, it’s bound to get a little boring eventually.

Unfortunately as far as new content goes CD Projekt Red are done with the game, after two glorious DLC expansions as well as a next-gen version of the game for Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.

If you’re a PC player though there’s an endless amount of new content for you to enjoy via the wonderful world of mods, some of which add entirely new areas to explore complete with original quests.

The mod we’re talking about today however actually restores a variety of content that wasn’t included in the final game, including some game mechanics from the first two Witcher games that weren’t carried over to the threequel.

It’s called Content Expansion- Time Of Sword And Axe, and is described by its creator “the culmination of all my content restoration efforts over the past year.”

It includes “over one hundred content additions, ninety of which are cut content restoration from either The Witcher 3 or previous games.”

Restored content includes a large assortment of weapons and items that can’t usually be found in the base version of the game, in addition to more alchemy recipes and even the drinking mechanic from The Witcher.

It’s a worthwhile addition to any PC playthrough of The Witcher 3, and practically transforms it into a whole new game, nearly a decade after its initial release.
