Topless Twitch streamer's 'censor bar' vanishes mid stream as viewers complain

The topless Twitch meta debacle continues, with one streamer's censorship bar disappearing mid stream.

What a messy ol’ end to the year it’s been for Twitch. The topless meta debacle continues.

Allow me to bring you up to speed. The popularity of topless streams has vastly increased as of late because, well, people like boobs I guess. As I’m sure you’re aware though, nudity is against Twitch’s guidelines. It was a stream by Morgpie that brought the new meta to many people’s attention. Technically, you’re not supposed to show “exposed nipples,” which Morgpie didn’t. You could simply tell from her upper torso that she wasn’t wearing a top. Still, people called for topless streams to be banned. Morgpie was then eventually banned but Twitch did a u-turn, later deciding that “artistic” nudity was okay.

Take a look at some of our favourite livestream wins and fails below.

Well, that was a mistake. It didn’t take long for users to flood Twitch with various depictions of nudity taking the newly-given freedom way too far - and yes, Twitch reverted the decision. That brings us to today’s episode in this ongoing saga. OnlyFans model and streamer FireDancer was somewhat adhering to the nudity guidelines during a stream by covering her private-bits, for lack of a better term, with two censorship bars.

Whilst you couldn’t see anything, if you catch my drift, many deemed this to be going too far seeing as it appeared that FireDancer was completely stark naked. You can imagine people’s horror then when one of the censorship bars disappeared part way through the stream. Thankfully, as reported by Dexerto, it turns out FireDancer wasn’t naked after all. She was indeed wearing a bra underneath but it hasn’t stopped viewers from calling on Twitch to improve their moderation - arguing that nudity is still far too rife on the platform.

“How trashy can we get? Surely, this is the limit,” one viewer said. “Twitch, just ban this s**t already. It’s so goddamn sad to see what Twitch has become.” Is the end of the topless meta nigh?
