Xbox's latest console is an absolute monstrosity, and it'll cost you a ton

This limited edition Xbox console is as scary as it is wonderful

Owning the rarest limited edition item can be a holy grail for collectors. However, to grab such luxury items, you not only have to get in there before the inevitable scalpers but it can also come at quite a financial cost and this latest Xbox console might be no exception.

In a collaboration that no one saw coming, at US retailer Best Buy, you will soon be able to purchase the ‘Xbox Series X - Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 Special Edition Bundle’. This console comes in the form of Spongebob looking unervingly happy as well as a controller that features Patrick, Squidward, Mr Krabs, Plankton, and Gary. It also comes with a copy of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2.

Being a fan of Spongebob Square Pants, I quite appreciate the quirkiness of this limited edition Xbox Series X console and to call it a monstrosity would perhaps be unfair, at least initially. During the day with the sun shining through the window into your room, I can't imagine this console bringing you nothing but happiness. Yet, on the flip side, it could become a thing of Nickelodeon nightmares.

Can you imagine, during the very early hours of the morning with pitch black darkness on a night of a full moon? The shine of the moon creeps through a slight exposure of your window curtain and the light ever so slightly, beams across one half of the grinning SpongeBob face. I don't know about you, but waking up suddenly at 3:13am to see this face grinning and staring at me from the corner of my room would give me the fright of my life. Then all will be forgiven at the crack of dawn.

So, how do we get our hands on this limited edition console? Sadly, it is exclusive to the United States. But, if you live in the good ole US of A, you can be in with a chance to acquire this console via the Best Buy Mobile app. Though judging by the wording on Xbox.com, acquiring this console is not a guarantee.

The ‘Xbox Series X - Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 Special Edition Bundle’ will be available to purchase at 8am PST, 7 March 2024 and it comes with a hefty price tag of $699, which would surely make Mr Krabs very happy indeed. If want to acquire this console, then I wish you good luck and I hope that you get in there before the scalpers.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 is out now on PC, PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch.
