Modern video games can be a wonderful thing, no matter which platform you game on.
Each platform has its own benefits that others may not have. Consoles have exclusives with franchises such as The Last of Us, Halo and Super Mario, while PCs can have a bit of everything with the added benefit of upgrading systems for as much as deep wallets will allow.

In terms of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, one of the added benefits that each console has is the SSD hard drives, which can result in super-fast loading times and for the most part, enhanced in-game performance. However, as a result of Microsoft’s court battle with the US market regulator, the FTC, The Verge reports that documents published in court reveal Xbox’s former head of platform engineering and hardware Liz Hamren stated that the PlayStation 5 has an advantage over the Xbox Series X|S due to its SSD performance.

“They [Sony] have optimised for raw higher throughput … 2x ours with slightly better hardware compression and associated performance improvements,” said Hamren when comparing the PS5 to Xbox Series X/S. Though to be fair, the Xbox Series X does have 12 Teraflops compared to the PS5’s 10 Teraflops, but in the grand scheme of things, the difference between both systems is miniscule.
In other news, it is reported that Microsoft plans to release a new console in 2024 with a wild new design, and a next-gen Xbox has surfaced - which all but confirms recent PlayStation 6 release date rumours. That's not all. The leaked documents have also unveiled that Bethesda is working on a Fallout 3 remaster, plus Xbox reportedly attempted to acquire Nintendo. As you might imagine, Nintendo replied with a big resounding no. Ouch.
